AP Research: Unit 1 - Topic of Inquiry

Unit Description

Unit 1 focuses on understanding the differences between little "r" research and BIG "R" research and applying the foundational concepts learned in AP Seminar to the complexities of a year-long research study. Students will become familiar with the Academic Paper (4,000-5,000 words), begin their Process and Reflection Portfolios, and create extensive annotated bibliographies in order to explore various research topics of interest, develop their research question, and situate their study in their chosen discipline's field of study. Students will also learn how to establish their own credibility.
